Recharge in a Bathtub of Love

I am still on a high from the event I attended last week.   It was a celebration of love for two people that I love and admire very much.  A & M have been together for almost 10 years, and wanted to celebrate that with people who love and support them;  I was very much honored to be a part of that.  It was visually stunning , the food was great, and a great time was had by all.  And it felt like recharging in a bathtub full of love.   Yeah, I know, that sounds pretty corny, but though I can come up with a lot of things that come close to how it felt, that feels the most accurate to me.

This couple has created a phenomenal tribe, and I feel so blessed to be a part of it.  They have surrounded themselves with people who love and support and respect them.  They live life on their own terms –  doing what they love, not worrying about what others think is important or what others may think is the ‘right’ way to do things, and respecting other thoughts, cultures, and people.  They travel for months at a time every winter, not doing the usual touristy things, but seeing the world from the view of the real people who inhabit each place they visit.

There was so much love floating around, it would have been impossible not to feel it.  That love was directed generally at A & M, but there was enough to go around for everyone.  I was basking in the overflow.

So here’s what I am thinking.  The next time you feel a little down, in need of a little pick-me-up, find a place where the love is overflowing and go soak it up.  Even though the love may not be meant directly for you, feel free to soak it up.  That’s the cool thing about love, there is an abundance of it, and taking some doesn’t mean that someone else gets less – like everything else, it is abundant and you taking some of it will actually just lead you to create more. Go find a happy gathering – a wedding, a baptism, a kid’s birthday party,  a barbecue where good friends are gathered – it doesn’t have to be anything official.  Wallow in the ambient love that is floating around.

It’s been a week and I am still flying high. It has become very apparent to me why hanging out with people I love, whether it be another couple or 170 people,  is so important for me.  It recharges my batteries. I plan on jumping into that bathtub of love as often as I get the chance.  How do you recharge your batteries, and what is your ‘bathtub of love?’

It sounds as though you had a most wonderful time. We all need to soak up the love around us. It multiplies 100 fold every time and glow reaches all in it’s path. You are so right, whether it is friends, family, a wedding or a back yard BBQ. Love is all around. So let it recharge you every time.

    Wonderful post Judy.

I think you can find it anywhere, if you are open to it! Good idea Judy.
