I tried to not get into this, but it just has my blood boiling to the point where I no longer can ignore it. What is it with this water crisis in Flint, Michigan, and how is it that the governor is still allowed to call himself the governor? I don’t want to leap to judgment here, but if there are circumstances that show the governor is not at fault in this crisis, he should release that information. Everything I have seen and heard points to the fact that Snyder put the things that caused this into play. And that starts with his taking away the democratic process in cities that he decides his appointees can run better than elected officials. From what I have seen, his appointees, who report to him and not to the people of the town they are given control over, have not done a very good job. I think it is time for a little “the buck stops here” talk from Snyder. If he is not going to resign, then the people of Michigan should have him impeached.
In my mind it is unconscionable that the people of this town were lied to, over and over, about the water quality. People could tell from the look and taste of the water that something was wrong, and yet were told to just relax – the water is fine. Well, the water isn’t and hasn’t been fine since the cut-over to the river water, and the damage that has been done is irreversible in the children of Flint. The state need to step up soon. I am not normally a litigious person, but if that’s what it takes, so be it. If the state is not going to step up, then suing them appears to be the last resort.
This appears to be a case of “if I say it often enough and loud enough, then it must be true.” Governor, have you no decency? The water is obviously not right. If you truly think it is, then send your family (and yourself) to Flint to drink it. But I suspect that you have known for quite some time that it is not right. But regardless of how long you have known it is not right, you do know now, so FIX IT!
