My New Year’s Wish

For this New Year, I wish that we could all see the beauty in ourselves. I wish that we could all realize that we are enough, just the way we are now. And I wish that we could all realize that it is okay to acknowledge the good in us, just like it is okay to acknowledge the good in others.

This year I will strive to let my true self be seen by others, even knowing that some will not like what they see. That is none of my business. I will concentrate on the things that are my business: being a good person, telling the truth, loving all people, helping where and when I can. I will concentrate on me and what I can make better in this world, and I will let all slights and hurt feelings go, knowing that it is likely that whoever hurt me probably didn’t know they did, and if they did it on purpose, there is nothing I can do about it anyway. I will try to figure out what is mine to deal with, and then I will deal with it. If it is not mine to deal with, I will let it go.

These are my goals. I don’t know that I will reach them in a year, and I do know that I will try my best. I also know that trying my best is the best I can do, and it is good enough.

I wish this too! Thanks for the inspiration, and good luck to both of us.
